The Graeme and Muir derby is always a keenly contested fixture, with a similar type of school meeting for the fixture. There were two hockey matches played on the Friday, with Graeme winning the 1st XI match 5-0. On the Saturday, Graeme sent more than 250 boys to Uitenhage to play in the 17 rugby matches.

The season is dwindling down to a precious few matches but still there are schools keen to play to the end of the month.

The South African College High School (SACS) travelled down the road to Diocesan College (Bishops) for this season’s second instalment of their long standing rivalry dating back possibly as far as 1863. Bishops won for the second time this season, more convincingly this time, by 47 points to 17 (half time 21-5).

Maritzburg College came up to Johannesburg to play King Edward VII School. The match was even in the first half but the second belonged to KES, as, apparently, they knew it would.
