Boks 'release' Marx

Marx, centre Damian de Allende and wing Lwazi Mvovo were released by the national team on Monday and will be available for Currie Cup action for this coming weekend.

De Allende returns to the Western Province, Mvovo goes back to the Sharks while Marx, who made his Springbok debut as a second half replacement against the All Blacks two weeks ago in Christchurch, will continue playing for the Golden Lions.

Marx started at hooker in the Lions' 71-7 victory over the Eastern Province Kings last Saturday after he was released from the Springbok squad following that match against the All Blacks.

The reason given for Marx's release at the time was that the Springbok management felt they will benefit from additional game or training time.

Marx, De Allende and Mvovo will join their provincial training teams on Tuesday morning after it was decided to release them earlier than normal, because of the short training week for their Currie Cup teams.
