Montpellier to release Trinh-Duc for Argentina tour

Club manager Abdelatif Benazzi told AFP that the 29-year-old Trinh-Duc, who has 53 caps, was surplus to coach Jake White's requirements for the knock out phase of the French domestic campaign.

"It's an open secret everyone knows Jake White's position on Trinh-Duc", Benazzi revealed. "So if he gets called up there'll be no problem letting him go," he added.

France coach Guy Noves however has never hidden that Trinh-Duc is his first choice flyhalf.

Montpellier are second in France with a match remaining in the Top 14 first phase as six clubs qualify for the final phase and the top two go straight into the semifinals.

France will play Argentina twice on June 19 and 25 which are both Top 14 semifinal weekends - a headache for France's selection process.

Noves is due to reveal his squad on Monday, a day after the final match of the Top 14 qualifying phase.

"Fot the moment we know nothing about who is in the France squad and we aren't going to speculate," said Benazzi.
