Player ratings: Big wobble
Australia will reflect on what may well be their Annus horribilis, finishing with the ignominy of becoming Argentina's first victims.
The Pumas' 21-17 win in Mendoza on Saturday again showed up the glaring weakness i a Wallaby team in regress.
Their set pieces, especially the scrums, are a mess. Their discipline is woeful and perhaps it relates to the much-reported public spat between players and certain management officials.
But generally, they just don't seem to be a cohesive unit that will be a threat at the World Cup next year.

15 Israel Folau:
Troubled the Puma defenders, especially when coming closer to the breakdown areas and not just hovering out wide.

One of the few Wallabies to have not harmed his reputation - a real stalwart.

Again very powerful with ball in hand, but the rest of his game can do with some improvement.

Some great work on defence and certainly put his body on the line. However, slipped a few too many tackles and left the field after half-an-hour.

A day he would rather forget. No real chances on attack and was largely anonymous.

His shockers when having penalty kicks at goal shows he probably doesn't have the temperament to be a world class international.

Silly mistake that resulted in a yellow card, when his team was already on a general warning, and he also seems to talk more than he plays.

Had a point to prove and showed why he is probably a better option as first-choice No.8. Faded a bit in the latter stages.

You can always bank on him to make an impact at the breakdown, but his lack of discipline cost his team dearly.

Other than his defensive work, he was nowhere to be found.

Provided the grunt the Wallabies needed, with plenty of tackles and won all his line-outs. But, like many others in his team, were penalised too often.

Had a very ordinary day at the office.

Made plenty of tackles, but his poor set-piece work made him a liability.
