PLAYER RATINGS: Blitzkrieg
The game had it all - moments of brilliance, some great tries, brutal hits and a few spiteful incidents.
In the end the Wallabies just had too much class for a Pumas team that looked to have spent all their energy against New Zealand last week.
Jan de Koning rates the Australian players!
15 Israel Folau:
When you look at his aerial and ball in hand skills, he looks like a superstar. However, there were a few too many cynical penalties - something a number of Wallabies were guilty of.
6/10
14 Dane Haylett-Petty:
His running and tackling suggested he is growing into his role in the Test arena, but his kicking game needs plenty of work.
7/10
13 Samu Kerevi:
Powerful with ball in hand and you can't fault his defence, but his off-loading skills let him down on a few occasions.
7/10
12 Bernard Foley:
Seems to be enjoying next to Quade Cooper and does provide the additional play-making option that is key to the way the Wallabies want to play.
7/10
11 Reece Hodge:
A few very impressive runs and solid on defence. Another player who is likely to become a regular feature in the Wallaby teams of the future.
6/10
10 Quade Cooper:
Certainly enjoying having Will Genia on his inside and fast regaining his magical form. Defence still a weakness and some cynical off the ball antics - one incident which earned him 10 minutes in the sin bin - spoilt an otherwise good game with.
5/10
9 Will Genia:
Snappy service and good tactical decision-making. He is back to his best.
9/10
8 David Pocock:
Made a heap of tackles before leaving the field shortly after half-time with a shoulder injury.
7/10
7 Michael Hooper:
A real workhorse - especially on defence, where he made a game-high 18 tackles.
8/10
6 Dean Mumm:
Some good work on defence, but his overall workrate can improve.
6/10
5 Adam Coleman:
Did some amazing work on defence - by some distance his most valuable contribution. Not that he shirks his duty in the other areas and that with a cut lip that was opened, again, early in the match.
8/10
4 Rob Simmons:
7/10
3 Sekope Kepu:
A couple of strong carries and a massive workrate on defence.
7/10
2 Stephen Moore (captain):
His best work was on defence, but his workrate was not what it should have been.
6/10
1 Scott Sio:
A match he would rather forget - too many missed tackles, conceded penalties and spent 10 minutes in the sin bin.
4/10
Replacements:
16 Tatafu Polota-Nau (Replaced Moore, 49th min):
One really impressive run and missed just one tackle.
6/10
17 James Slipper (Replaced Sio, 61st min):
Made no impact whatsoever and had a poor workrate.
5/10
18 Tom Robertson (Replaced Kepu, 61st min):
Made a handful of tackles, but no other impact.
5/10
19 Rory Arnold (Replaced Coleman, 61st min):
Other than a few tackles he was largely anonymous.
5/10
20 Lopeti Timani (Replaced Mumm, 69th min):
Not enough time to be rated.
21 Sean McMahon (Replaced Pocock, 45th min):
Added real value, especially on defence, after coming on for an extended run.
7/10
22 Nick Phipps (Replaced Genia, 69th min):
Not enough time to be rated.
23 Tevita Kuridrani (Replaced Kerevi, 74th min):
Not enough time to be rated.
