World Rankings: Small gains for Springboks

NEWS: There is no change to the positions of the leading nations in the World Rugby Rankings after this weekend's penultimate round of The Rugby Championship.

New Zealand clinched their sixth Rugby Championship title and maintain a 2.4-point lead over Ireland at the top of the World Rugby Rankings after beating Argentina 35-17 in Buenos Aires on Saturday.

A heavy defeat at the hands of Argentina would have seen the All Blacks relinquish their long-held status as the world's number one nation to Ireland, but they never really looked in trouble at the Velez Sarsfield stadium.

Meanwhile, South Africa gained a fraction over six-tenths of a rating point for their 23-12 win against Australia.

South Africa remain in fifth place, while Australia stay seventh, still 2.74 points better off than France.

The final round of the Rugby Championship sees the Boks host the All Blacks in Pretoria, while Australia travel to Salta to take on Argentina.
