Boks won't be fooled by 'tricky' Wallabies
Redelinghuys did not feature in the Springboks 17-23 defeat against Australia in Brisbane earlier this month, after sustaining a hamstring injury against Los Pumas in Nelspruit (a 30-23 victory), two weeks prior to the match against the Wallabies.
Redelinghuys has recovered from his hamstring injury and the big prop was included in the Springboks squad for their final two matches of this year's Rugby Championship, against Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking to journalists in Johannesburg during the week, Redelinghuys said that the Springboks need to play to their strengths, rather than focus on what the opposition will throw at them when they face the Wallabies in Pretoria on Saturday.
"They [Australia] do come with tricks and they try to do different things in different places on the field.
"I think the most important thing for us is to focus on our job and to do what we do well and then you can manage what goes in front of you. I think that's our focus point - to focus on ourselves, doing our things to the best of our abilities," explained Redelinghuys.
"As Julian said our main focus is ourselves, that's what we can control.
"I felt in the previous game [17-23 loss against Australia in Brisbane earlier this month] there were areas we had them under pressure and if we can replicate that and do our processes better, we could apply more pressure.
"I want to evaluate my players. I want my focus to be as a coach making Julian a better player, contributing to him as a man off the field and contributing to him as a tighthead on the field - there I'm going to get a result, there I'm going to get an effect on the pack of forwards and that's where my focus is," added Proudfoot.
Redelinghuys made his return from injury as a second-half substitute for the Golden Lions during their Currie Cup Premier Division match against the Eastern Province Kings last weekend (Lions won 71-7) and Redelinghuys added that he is match fit and raring to go in the green and gold.
"It was nice to get back on the park, playing with the Lions guys again, so it was an awesome game to get back into it. Rugby is what we love, so to do that again was lovely.
"I got my 40-45 minutes. For a prop, it's always a lot, but the hamstring is feeling good and I'm looking forward to it, if I get an opportunity just to do my part for the team this weekend," said Redelinghuys.
