There was a sad ending to the Under-18 tournament in Italy. The match between England and Ireland was to be played on a field in Colorno which the England management thought unfit because of some small stones on the field. The stones were removed, the match officials declared the ground fit for play, the Irish wanted to play but the England management remained adamant and the match did not take place, according to the IRFU website.
