Harris out of Wallabies squad

The 27-year-old suffered the hamstring injury when he broke through the Western Force defensive line to set up Reece Hodge’s eighth try of the Super Rugby season early in the first half.

Harris will only be available for the Rebels before the end of the season after scans revealed the playmaker will miss two to three weeks.

Harris was replaced in the 39-player Australian squad by Hodge.

"It’s really disappointing that he will miss the [Australia international]  opportunity," McGahan said.

"[Harris] would be bitterly disappointed, no doubt at all as he’s worked hard to get back in this position.

"In the limited time he’s played this year he’s been a big influence on what we’re doing and the Australian selectors saw enough in him," he added.

Rebels are struggling with a long list of injuries. Laurie Weeks is out for four to six weeks with a hamstring, while Dan Hawkins, Dom Shipperley, Cam Crawford and Tamati Ellison will not be playing for the rest of the season due to injuries.
