Marler in more hot water over abusive tweet
The 25-year-old - on whom World Rugby imposed a two-game ban and £20 000 (25,400 euros, $28,900) fine for calling Welsh forward Samson Lee "gypsy boy" in a Six Nations international in March - directed his fire at Dwyer for saying fellow England prop Dan Cole should have been heavily penalised for his scrummaging in the epic England win over the Wallabies in last Saturday's first Test in Brisbane.
"Bob Dwyer is a w*****," Marler wrote on his official Twitter account, @JoeMarler.
Marler deleted the tweet but the RFU has strict guidelines on the use of social media and the Harlequins prop, a member of the Elite Player Squad, now faces some form of punishment.
Marler, who was criticised by Dwyer for his illegal scrummaging ahead of the World Cup pool game between Australia and England, ruled himself out of the tour to Australia after his troubled finish to the season.
Aside from the fine and suspension, the 42-times capped prop blotted his copybook immediately on his return when he was banned for two weeks for kicking a Grenoble player while playing for his English Premiership club in the European Challenge Cup.
