Player Ratings: The great escape

Like their World Cup quarterfinal win, Australia left it late with a late score from centre Tevita Kuridrani and a conversion from Bernard Foley sealing a hard-fought one-point win against a plucky and determined Scottish outfit.

The win means Australia's Grand Slam hopes are still alive, but they still have some tough games still to play.

Warren Fortune rates the Australian players!

15 Israel Folau:

He definitely tried his best against a plucky Scottish defence, but it was definitely not one of his best showings.

6/10

14 Dane Haylett-Petty:

He was put into space on a few occasions and he was brave in the tackle as well.

7/10

13 Tevita Kuridrani:

The big centre did his part on defence and he got over the advantage line every time he got the ball. His try was also the match-winner.

8/10

12 Reece Hodge:

It was a good all-round performance by the youngster, but he also conceded a lot of turnovers as well.

6/10

11 Henry Speight:

He has plenty of running metres, but he did not have a big impact in open play.

6/10

10 Bernard Foley:

He made some good decisions on the field and his boot was instrumental in his team's narrow win.

7/10

9 Will Genia:

His service was snappy and he threatened around the breakdown as well.

7/10

8 Lopeti Timani:

Plenty of carries without too much impact. However, he did not miss a tackle in a tight game.

6/10

7 Michael Hooper:

Made more tackles than any other player in his team and made a nuisance of himself at the breakdown.

7/10

6 David Pocock:

He did his part on defence and did some good work at the breakdown. But he was a bit quiet at times.

6/10

5 Adam Coleman:

Went off after five minutes.

Not enough time to be rated.

4 Rory Arnold:

He was under pressure in a few line-outs and did not do enough in the physical exchanges. However, he did make some bone-crunching tackles.

6/10

3 Sekope Kepu:

He did well in a few scrums and he was busy in open play.

6/10

2 Stephen Moore:

He led by example. He put his body on the line again in open play and made some good decisions as well.

7/10

1 Scott Sio:

He was strong in the scrums but needed to do a bit more in open play.

6/10
