Currie Cup Final! It is the Currie Cup Final this weekend in the 129-year-old competition, always a highlight in South African rugby.
The competition started in 1889, had the Currie Cup added in 1892 and this is the 57th Final - only 57th, as earlier more often the Currie Cup was played as a central tournament or on a league basis.
Jaco Peyper has appointed to referee the final, the fourth time he will have done so.
It is the third running of the Bledisloe Cup this weekend. It's winner is already decided because New Zealand won the first two but still it is an important match as Australia seek credibility and New Zealand want to wash away the aftertaste of their latest two matches against South Africa. The match will be played in Japan, host country for next year's World Cup.
There are finals in New Zealand and Australia.
EPRC's competitions stop and PRO14 rugby comes charging out again. Clubs are fully operational.
