VIDEO: Wallabies have a plan to defuse Bok bomb squad

Two-cap Wallaby Josh Nasser is 'excited' about the prospect of facing the Springboks' famous Bomb Squad.

The Wallabies host the Boks in the much-anticipated Rugby Championship opener in Brisbane on Saturday.

Australia's coach Joe Schmidt went for a more traditional five forwards and three backs replacements bench, while Rassie Erasmus again opted for his favoured six forward and two backline replacements.

Nasser is one of the five forwards that need to counter the Boks' forward power in the second half.

"They are a big team," the 25-year-old said, adding: "We will have to front up physically.

"We have had a good week to prepare for that."

He admitted that the Bomb Squad and the size of the Bok forwards are issues that enter the conversation.

"Our internal focus this week has been to prepare as best as we can to put ourselves in good stead."

Having faced mediocre teams like Wales and Georgia in July, coming up against the back-to-back World Cup winners presents a very different challenge.

"They command a lot of respect," Nasser said.

"They've had a fair few good years but we're preparing as a Wallabies unit," he added.

"We've been together for a month or so now.

"We're growing nicely and hopefully we can put up a good fight against them."

"We're sort of internally focused.

"We're focused on how we can prepare the best we can."

Nasser has rugby flowing through his veins as the next Nasser looking to pull on the gold jersey.

He is the son of 1991 World Cup-winning Wallaby Brendon, with sister Bella having made her Olympic debut at the Sevens in Paris.
