NEWS: Eddie Jones'  second stint as Australia's head coach has not gone as planned.

Australia appear set to travel to the World Cup without an attacking coach.

Brad Davis has quit his position as Wallabies attacking coach this week, leaving the Wallabies without an attack coach ahead of their World Cup opener against Georgia in Paris on September 10.

Davis, who joined the Wallabies from London Irish in May under Jones, will return to United Kingdon after he resigned due to personal reasons, Rugby Australia confirmed.

His departure leaves the Wallabies scrambling for a new attacking guru, but Jones insisted he already had a replacement in mind.

"There's an opportunity for us and we'll improve our coaching staff," Jones said.

"There's a potential candidate ready to step up now."

Jones confirmed former assistant Scott Wisemantel would not be coming in, having worked alongside him at England.

The Wallabies face hosts France in a pre-tournament Test on Monday, August 28.
