Wallabies reveal opponents for final World Cup warm-up match

NEWS: The Wallabies will play a one-off Test against Samoa in Sydney this year as part of their build-up to the World Cup, officials said Monday.

The clash on September 7 will be one of only three home games for Australia before they head to Japan in their bid to win a third world title.

"With the World Cup in our sights this year we really want to build some momentum to help take our game up a level or two, I think that's really important for us," said Wallabies coach Michael Cheika.

"To play a team like Samoa in our take-off game for the World Cup will be perfect. They have a mix of razzle-dazzle and physicality which will be exactly what we need before stepping out against Fiji in Sapporo."

The match will follow a Rugby Championship clash in Brisbane against Argentina on July 27 before a Bledisloe Cup showdown in Perth against New Zealand on August 10.

Ahead of the 2011 World Cup, Samoa shocked the Wallabies by beating them in Sydney for their first Test victory in five attempts against the Australians.
