Wallabies to call on veteran playmakers for Bok Tests?
SPOTLIGHT: The Springboks could be up against some familiar faces in Australia.
According to reports Down Under, Kurtley Beale and Bernard Foley are both in the frame for a Wallabies recall.
Dave Rennie's side has been hit badly with injuries this year, but form has also been a problem.
The Wallabies have used five fullbacks in their last six Test matches.
Tom Wright struggled in that position in Australia's record 17-48 defeat to Argentina in San Juan over the weekend.
According to Fox Sports Australia, Beale is expected to meet the Wallabies' medical staff this week.
Beale's last Test match was against Scotland last year, while the Japan-based Foley has not played at Test level since the 2019 World Cup.
The Wallabies will have space for a third overseas-based player in the squad to join Rory Arnold and Marika Koroibete.
It is also believed that Arnold could be recalled by his Japanese club after the two matches against the Springboks.
The other overseas-based players were Samu Kerevi and Quade Cooper, but they are unavailable because of injuries.
The Springboks face Australia in Adelaide on August 27 before they meet again in Sydney on September 3.
