England suffer triple Six Nations blow
INJURY NEWS: England head coach Steve Borthwick has been forced to make three changes to his 2024 Six Nations squad.
Currently training in Girona, Spain, the England squad has sustained three injury setbacks.
In an official statement, the Rugby Football Union (RFU) confirmed that Ollie Lawrence, Oscar Beard and Luke Cowan-Dickie have been withdrawn from the England squad due to injury.
Beard (Harlequins), Lawrence (Bath) and Cowan-Dickie (Sale Sharks) picked up injuries while playing for their respective clubs in the Champions Cup.
Beard suffered a concussion in Harlequins' European victory over Ulster on Saturday while Cowan-Dickie was replaced early in the second half of Sale Sharks' defeat by La Rochelle a day later because of an undisclosed medical condition.
Lawrence finished Bath's loss at Toulouse on Sunday but there are no details of his injury.
The trio have been replaced by the Bath duo of Max Ojomoh and Will Muir and Newcastle Falcons hooker Jamie Blamire.
Beard will travel to England’s training base in Girona where he will continue his return to play protocol.
England kicks off their Six Nations campaign with an away match against Italy on February 3 before hosting Wales at Twickenham the following week.
