Lancaster releases Cipriani

Danny Cipriani is among the players Stuart Lancaster has released back to their clubs from the England squad currently undergoing training at Pennyhill Park.

Cipriani was not used in the 9-19 loss to Ireland and will, in all likelihood, start at flyhalf for his club Sale Sharks in a Premiership encounter against Bath on Friday.

Other players who have been released back to their clubs include tighthead prop Henry Thomas (Bath), hooker Tom Youngs, back row forward Tom Croft and lock Geoff Parling (all Leicester Tigers).

England have, however, retained 16 players for the remainder of the training week which includes the entire starting XV besides Alex Goode.

In addition, Ed Slater and Manusamoa Tuilagi (both Leicester Tigers) and Joe Launchbury (Wasps) will be in camp to continue their rehabilitation.
