Sacked Fiji coach wants job back
Sacked Fiji rugby coach Ilivasi Tabua has told Fijian media he would be willing to lead the team to this year's World Cup if he has the support of local rugby union leaders.
Tabua was fired by the national rugby union in August 2009 for unspecified misbehavior, but an employment tribunal last month found in favor of his appeal, saying the union had not given him a chance to defend himself.
Tabua told the Fiji Sun newspaper on Tuesday he was seeking compensation from the Fiji Rugby Union but would also accept reinstatement. Union leader Keni Dakuidreketi said the group would seek legal advise before making a decision.
The newspaper said several of Fiji's provincial rugby unions want Tabua to replace Sam Domoni as national coach.
