France suffer lock blow ahead of World Cup
NEWS: France lock Romain Taofifenua will miss at least three weeks of training due to a hamstring injury, leaving doubts over his fitness for the World Cup.
"We had a little problem with Romain Taofifenua, who had pain in his hamstring. He was taken out of the group this [Wednesday] morning for an assessment evaluation," said team physiotherapist Bruno Boussagol.
"He is continuing his preparation with us. The objective is to re-assess it within three weeks.
"He will be taken care of as soon as possible so that he can return to the field. We need to take a little time to let the area heal."
The injury means that the 32-year-old Lyon player, who has 43 caps, will be unavailable to face Scotland in Edinburgh on Saturday in the host nation's first World Cup warm-up game.
France will face the Scots again on August 12 in Saint-Etienne, then play Fiji on August 19 in Nantes before rounding off their preparations against Australia at the Stade de France on August 27.
The French play the opening match of the World Cup against New Zealand on September 8.
