Gourdon free to play against Boks

Gourdon appeared before an independent World Rugby Disciplinary Committee in London on Tuesday having been cited by an independent World Rugby Citing Commissioner for alleged foul play (an alleged dangerous shoulder charge contrary to Law 10.4(h)) in the November International match between France and New Zealand at Stade de France on Saturday.

The Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Professor Lorne Crerar (Scotland), alongside Phaidra Knight (USA) and John Doubleday (England), listened to representations by and on behalf of the player, viewed video footage of the incident and reviewed all of the other evidence.

The Disciplinary Committee was not satisfied that act an of foul play had been committed, and accordingly dismissed the citing complaint.

Gourdon is free to resume playing immediately.

The full decision will be released in due course.
