Prop Jarvis joins Clermont from Ospreys

The deal with the club currently third in France, which starts next season, will end Jarvis' five-year stay with the Swansea side, whom he joined from Bath in 2011.

"I've really enjoyed my time with the Ospreys and am proud of everything we've achieved over the last five years.

"There's still a job to do this season though and I'll be giving it everything to ensure I finish on a high before moving on to a fresh challenge with my new club."

Clermont coach Franck Azema said he was signing a player with solid European experience.

Jarvis has started 27 European Cup ties and also played for Wales 16 times, three of which came in the last World Cup.

"He has a wealth of experience. He knows the English league, the Celtic league, the European Cup and international rugby," Azema said of the 29-year-old recruit.

"He's also at an age of maturity which is optimal at this position."

Other Clermont recruits include Sitaleki Timani, Rémi Lamerat and Isaia Toavea. The team also has three other props on the books in Davit Zirakashvili, Clément Ric and youngster Michaël Simutoga.
