Ireland bring in uncapped hooker

SQUAD UPDATE: Uncapped hooker Diarmuid Barron has joined the Ireland squad ahead of their warm-up clash against Samoa in Bayonne.

Barron travelled with the squad to France due to Dan Sheehan's absence.

Sheehan suffered a foot injury in Ireland's 29-10 warm-up win over England in Dublin over the weekend.

Head coach Andy Farrell, who will name his final 33-man World Cup selection next Monday, is still waiting to discover the full extent of Sheehan’s issue.

Ireland flew to south-west France on Sunday in preparation for their final warm-up match and trained at Stade Jean-Dauger in Bayonne on Monday.

Jack Conan (foot) and Dave Kilcoyne (hamstring) also remained in Dublin.
