Coppa Italia Final

On Saturday, 18 January 2020, the final of the  Coppa Italia will be played in the northern Italian town of Rovigo between Rovigo and Petrarca of Padua.

The competition dates back to 1967, though there have been 23 gaps. From 2011 to 2018 it was known as the Trofeo Eccellenza.

Viadana is the team which has won it most often - six times in all - followed by the Roman club Fiamme Oro with five wins and Benetton Treviso with four.

The teams who compete are all teams in the Top 12, Italy's main club competition.

Petrarca have won the Coppa Italia twice before but for Rovigo this would be a first win.

After eight rounds of the Top 12, Rovigo are unbeaten and top the log. Petrarca are fifth after winning six and losing to Emilia, who are second, and Mogliano who are sixth. Rovigo and Petrarca have no yet met but meet in Round 10 on 1 February 2020.

The match will be played at the Stadio Battaglini in Rovigo, Rovigo's home ground which has a capacity of around 5 500.
