Scotland ready to cheat to beat Boks at Murrayfield

NOVEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Scotland will do whatever it takes to beat the Springboks at Murrayfield says hooker Fraser Brown.

Scotland are coming off a 54-17 victory against Fiji, but they know the Springboks will be a much tougher challenge.

A win against the Springboks will be a major confidence booster for the Scots ahead of next year's World Cup and they are prepared to push the boundaries of the law at Murrayfield.

"They’ll try and cheat and we’ll try and cheat and whoever comes out on top will probably win," Brown told The Scotsman.

The Boks' are well known for their strengths amongst the forwards. However, Brown is not too worried about taking on the Boks up front.

"It’s interesting, it’s a stat people like to pull out about the weights of the packs. "It’s how you use it to be honest.

"Our tactic at the weekend was to move Fiji around and try and be more clinical in areas like scrum and maul and exploit weaknesses.

"We’ll review South Africa and look to exploit them, whether they’ve got a big pack or not. We’re focusing hard on our own technique and tactics," Brown added.

The last time these two teams met was in the pool stages at the 2015 World Cup. The Boks won 34-16 in Newcastle.
