'The ultimate Test': Springboks get another opponent for November
NEWS: Another fixture has been confirmed for the Springboks' end-of-year tour in November.
On Tuesday, Scotland revealed that they will be playing Rassie Erasmus' side.
That fixture against the Scots will take place on Sunday, November 10, a week before Boks' match against England at Twickenham on November 16/17.
Meanwhile, Gregor Townsend’s side host Fiji on Saturday, November 2. The last time Scotland took on the Fijians was in 2022, running out 28-12 winners.
Portugal will visit Murrayfield on Saturday, November 16 for the first time since 2007, when the hosts recorded a 56-10 pool stage victory in that year’s World Cup.
Scotland's end-of-year campaign will round off with the visit of Australia who last visited Murrayfield in 2022, when they edged out a 16-15 victory.
"It’s a really exciting prospect to have four home games in succession during November and the varied opposition will test us in different ways," said Townsend.
"Fiji and Portugal both play a fast and open brand of rugby and performed very well in the World Cup in France. This will be a challenge for our defence but should make for two great games of rugby.
"Having South Africa as one of our opponents will make for a special occasion. Taking on the reigning world champions is the ultimate test for any team in rugby right now and that will be a game everyone will be looking forward to when the time comes around.
"Our final game against Australia will round off the month nicely, against a team we have fought out some entertaining and close encounters with over the last few years.
"This year’s Six Nations once again demonstrated how inspiring matchdays are at home for our players and we can’t wait to play in front of our supporters once again, four weeks in a row."
