Bok captain's plea to South African rugby fans

WATCH Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has urged fans to support the South Africa Women when they take on Australia at Athlone Stadium on Saturday.

The Springbok Women opened their WXV 2 campaign with an impressive 31-24 win over Japan at the Cape Town Stadium and will look to secure another victory when they face Wallaroos in Round Two.

And knowing the tough assignement, double World Cup winner Siya Kolisi has called on South Africa to support the Bok Women's side and come out in their numbers to the Athlone Stadium.

“Hello ladies and gentlemen, it’s Siyamthanda Kolisi. I am in Cape Town, Long Street as you see; getting ready for this weekend,” the Springbok skipper said in the video that went viral on social media.

“At Athlone, five o’clock our women’s Bok team is playing against the Wallaroos in Cape Town on Saturday. It’s a big WXV 2 game, and they need our support.

“We need to be there, I will be there and I’m telling you so come meet me there so we can sing amaGwijo and everything.

“Everything that this game needs is going to be out there, so please come in numbers. I beg you to come to the game.

“We preparing for next year’s World Cup, so let’s come support our ladies this week. I can’t wait to see you there.”
