Stats ahead of the North-South derby
OPINION: The Bulls Daisies and Western Province will contest the 2024 SA Rugby Women’s Premier Division Final on Saturday in Pretoria.
The Final is a rematch of the 2023 edition, which the Daisies won comfortably.
The Daisies have been in fine form and certainly head into the fixture with heaps of confidence. They top the standings with 65 points - nine points ahead of second-placed WP Women.
However irrespective of the result it has been an impressive season from both camps.
In terms of individual stats, Jakkie Cilliers top the charts for the most points scored.
With Libbie Janse van Rensburg on Sevens duty at the Olympics in Paris, Cilliers took over the kicking role and has been a class act.
Cilliers has scored 172 points, surpassing the previous record held by Janse van Rensburg (136).
Cilliers' teammate Unathi Mali is fourth with 76, while Chuma Qawe of Boland Dames is second with 87 points and WP Women wing Voice Ndou is third with 84 points.
Ndou, who earned a call-up to represent Zimbabweas Lady Cheetahs last year, is on top of the pile for most tries scored.
Ndou has scored 16 tries in 14 games.
She is followed by Unathi Mali of the Bulls Daisies and Nomawethu Mabenge both at 14 tries.
Bulls Daisies' Patience Mokone is fourth with 13 tries and Ulender Khumalo of the Sharks women makes up the top five.
