Uruguay beat western brethren
Los Teros of Uruguay won the Copa Hermandad (Brotherhood Cup) by beating Los Condores of Chile 46-12 in Montevideo on Saturday.
The Teros were never in danger of losing. After just eight minutes Nicholas Brignoni scored the first try. Half way through the first half flyhalf Pachi Arocena broke and scored. Penalties by Arocena and young fullback Jeronimo Etcheverry made the score 20-0 at the end of the half.
Brignoni got his second try early in the second half and then Tom Olave scored for Chile, a try converted by fullback Javier Valderrama to make the score 25-7.
Uruguay then weighed in with tries by Alfredo Giuria, Brignoni and Etcheverry. But Chile did not give up and replacement centre Francisco de la Fuente scored his side's secohnd try.
