Samson answers Welsh SOS
Wales have called on Scarlets prop Samson Lee to train with their squad preparing for the year-end Tests as cover for Ospreys tighthead Adam Jones.
Lee, who starred for Wales Under-20 as they defeated New Zealand at the IRB Junior World Championship in South Africa in June - Wales' only victory over New Zealand at that level to date - will join the squad which leaves for its training camp in Poland this Sunday.
Jones, who has an issue with his knee, remains in camp and will travel to the same Olympic training venue in Spala which was used to prepare for the 2011 World Cup alongside the rest of his teammates as planned.
"In order to get the best out of Spala it is important for us that the squad is able to work at optimum level," said Wales' interim head coach Rob Howley.
"Samson has been called in as a precaution to train with the squad, as cover for Adam and to ensure that the squad can get through the work it needs to over the seven or eight days we are away in order to maximise our gains from the camp."
Lee, from Felinfoel in Llanelli, is a product of the WRU Scarlets Academy and WRU regional and international age grade system starting with the Scarlets U16 side.
