Wales release injured prop from Six Nations squad
SQUAD UPDATE: Archie Griffin has been released from Wales' Six Nations squad, officials announced Tuesday.
The prop forward suffered a knee injury while making his Test debut in Saturday's 14-16 second-round loss to England at Twickenham.
The Welsh Rugby Union said Griffin would now continue his rehabilitation at Bath, the 22-year-old's English Premiership club, with a squad replacement to be announced in due course.
Keiron Assiratti, Leon Brown and Dillon Lewis are the remaining tighthead props already in the Wales squad, although Brown damaged his shoulder during the Six Nations opener against Scotland and did not feature against England.
Meanwhile, Scarlets back Tom Rogers will remain with the regional side, and won't join up with the national squad, after suffering a chest injury during the Llanelli-based team's European Challenge Cup victory over Clermont Auvergne on January 13.
Wales, beaten by Scotland and England in the opening two rounds, continue their Six Nations campaign against title favourites Ireland in Dublin on February 24 when the tournament resumes after a rest week.
