Butler stay at Brumbies
Since joining the club in 2014, Butler has made 40 appearances. Prior to his time at the Brumbies, he was at the Reds.
In 2012 Butler made his Super Rugby debut for the Reds against the Highlanders.
Born in New Zealand, Butler spend most of his international career in Australia.
Butler has represented Australia at both schoolboys and Under-20 level. Last year Butler was hand-picked by Wallabies' coach, Michael Cheika, to represent the famous Barbarians side following the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Butler was also the UC Vikings' captain for the 2015 National Rugby Championship, where he scored nine tries from ten appearances. He played a leading role in taking the side to the competitions final.
24-year-old is really enthusiastic about his additional stay at the Brumbies.
"I am very proud to wear the Brumbies jersey and be a part of a squad that is filled with so much talent,” Butler said.
“The opportunity to work within this program and continue our push for a Super Rugby title is one I am looking forward to. It’s very pleasing to know that I’ll be here again next year.”
One man who is really happy about the No.8 re-commitment, is Brumbies' coach Stephen Larkham.
"Jarrad has proved time and time again that he is one of the best up and coming players in Australian Rugby,” Larkham said.
“He has been a consistent member of the Brumbies match day side since joining the club and plays a vital role every week whether it is as a reserve or a starting player."
Brumbies are currently preparing for Sunday's Super Rugby match against the Crusaders at GIO Stadium.
