Earls out of Six Nations

Munster wing Keith Earls has been ruled out of Ireland's Six Nations campaign due to a knee injury he sustained against Edinburgh on Sunday.

Earls will be sidelined for approximately six to eight weeks after sustaining medial ligament damage to his left knee.

Earls was scheduled to join his Irish colleagues in camp on Sunday evening, but after picking up an injury, he was replaced after 25 minutes and consequently did not travel to Carton House.

Keith, who signed a two year Ireland Rugby Football Union contract this week to stay with the province, underwent a scan on Monday before meeting with the specialist in Dublin on Wednesday where the injury prognosis was confirmed.
