Goode guides Worcestor home

Former England star Andy Goode scored a try and booted 13 points as Worcester inflicted more misery on winless Sale with a 23-16 victory at Sixways on Friday.

Goode's 18 points included the decisive try 12 minutes from full-time and Sale, who have now lost seven successive Premiership matches this season, are still searching for a first league win since April.

The Sharks at least doubled their Premiership points tally thanks to a losing bonus after they matched Worcester on tries, with wing Mark Cueto and fullback Nick Macleod both touching down.

Flyhalf Danny Cipriani added two penalties, but Worcester snatched the win after Goode's late touchdown followed a scintillating effort from Warriors' Samoan wing David Lemi.

Goode, the second highest points scorer in Premiership history behind Charlie Hodgson, was the decisive factor as much for his goalkicking as his try.

The former Leicester star kicked three penalties and two conversions and although Sale spent the final moments camped close to the Worcester line they couldn't breakdown the hosts' defence.
