Hamstrung Williams doubtful

Welsh great Shane Williams is likely to miss the last competitive game of his career with a hamstring injury, which has put him in doubt to play with a Barbarians side against Saracens in Hong Kong.

Team officials said the 35-year-old wing and record try scorer suffered an injury playing for the Barbarians in their 21-30 defeat to Wales in Cardiff last weekend, and was "very doubtful" for Saturday's game.

He was due to play for the Asia-Pacific Barbarians, featuring legends including former All Blacks Mils Muliaina, Jerry Collins and Sitiveni Sivivatu, against English Premiership giants Saracens.

The Asia-Pacific Barbarians also feature fellow Welsh star Martyn Williams, England No.8 Nick Easter, Samoa centre Seilala Mapusua and former Japan captain Takuro Miuchi.

"It's not good news for me because we were supposed to rotate," Muliaina told AFP at a training session in the southern Chinese city, which is expected to be hot and humid on game day.

Williams scored a try two minutes from time to end his stellar competitive club career with a fairytale 31-30 win for Ospreys over European Cup holders Leinster last month.

The scorer of a record 58 tries in 87 Wales appearances, the 2008 IRB world player of the year ended his international career for the Barbarians in the friendly against Wales last Sunday.
