Sharks CEO Brian van Zyl has defended the price of tickets for the Currie Cup Final.

The Durban side has come in for some criticism from fans who are unhappy with the fact that tickets for the final against coastal rivals Western Province will cost them R350, which is a full R200 more than the tickets for the semifinal last week.

However, Van Zyl dismissed these complaints, and explained that the increase was warranted given the quality of the players involved  in a clash which will determine the "top provincial team of the year".

The Sharks CEO said that whilst he could understand that fans are feeling some financial pressure, he considered R350 a fair price given that tickets for the 2010 final between the same two sides were the same price.

Despite fans voicing their concerns on the team's official Facebook page, Van Zyl said that he is still confident the match will be sold out this weekend.
