Size matters
The new logo on the All Blacks jersey could have been even bigger.
The advertising block on the iconic jersy has caused something of an uproar in New Zealand, but there has been some consolation in the fact that it is significantly smaller than the logos on the New Zealand Sevens, Black Ferns, Maori All Blacks and New Zealand Under-20 jerseys and there is no box around it.
Experienced hooker Keven Mealamu said that the senior players were grateful that the powers that be were able to keep the logo as small as possible.
"When Steve Tew came into the room with the leaders of the All Blacks I remember how quiet it was when it dawned on us," Mealamu said. "When we saw the size of it and the box we thought it was too big for the jersey.
"So it's nice that they were respectful and able to take the box off and keep it to the size it is now. I am pleased we were able to come to that compromise and can really respect the jersey like that," he added.
