RWC, Day 7, Statistics
There were three matches on Saturday - New Zealand's romp against the brave Portuguese who sing their anthem with more gusto than anybody else, Australia's important win over Wales and the luck of the bewildered Irish against the ardent Georgians.
England remain the only team not to have scored a point in any one match in this World Cup.
We give some Rugby World Cup stats accumulatively.
We shall also discuss some incidents, probably in conjunction with other matches played over this weekend..
Sanctionary Cards
Carl Hayman of New Zealand became the first recipient of a yellow card. He was not the only one.
Australia picked up two on this day and at one stage were reduced to 13 men after first Drew Mitchell and then Nathan Sharpe went to the sin bin. Ireland lost David Wallace to the sin bin for a deliberate knock-on.
There may well be citings of Gareth Thomas and Chris Latham for tackles that were armless and late. Whether it will happen is anybody's guess. Then, on a par with Paul Emerick, Drew Mitchell may also be cited.
