Griquas change four for Cheetahs

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Griquas head coach, Scott Mathie, made two changes to his backline and two to his pack for their final Currie Cup clash of the season, against the Cheetahs in Kimberley.

Mathie tweaked the squad that came up short in Durban last weekend as the men from the Northern Cape finish their season against their eastern neighbours, hoping for a first win in the competition.

Daniel Kasende will start on the right wing against the Free Staters, with Harlon Klaasen on his inside, with the two speedsters replacing Enver Brandt and Berton Klaassen respectively.

Up front, Mathie recalled Adre Smith to the starting pack, with the lock swopping places with Ewan Coetzee, who started in Durban and will now finish in Kimberley.

In the other change, Mox Mxoli, has been elevated to the starting front-row in place of Andrew Beerwinkel, who drops to the replacements.

Mathie named an extended bench, with the familiar face of George Whitehead amongst them. The flyhalf and former captain missed a huge chunk of the season due to injury, but now makes a return in their final match.

In another change on the bench, Ederies Arendse comes in for Johnathan Francke, who travelled to Durban. Masixole Banda could also get a run when the Griquas coach finalises his matchday squad.

Griquas: 15 James Verity-Amm, 14 Daniel Kasende, 13 Harlon Klaasen, 12 Andre Swarts, 11 Eduan Keyter, 10 Tinus de Beer, 9 Zak Burger (captain), 8 Johan Momsen, 7 Stefan Willemse, 6 Gideon van der Merwe, 5 Cameron Lindsay, 4 Adre Smith, 3 John-Roy Jenkinson, 2 Alandre van Rooyen, 1 Mox Mxoli.
