Fit-again Lambie loving Racing

Lambie joins the team from the eighth minute!

Following a devastating tackle by Ireland loose forward CJ Stander during a June Test match, Lambie sat on the sidelines for an extended period of time, in an attempt to recover from the concussion. However, that recovery took longer than expected.

"I have had a couple of small injuries that have kept me on the sidelines for about three to four weeks [since getting to France] but nothing major and I have had some nice rugby under my belt now, so feeling settled and loving life at Racing.

"I had a run of three or four seasons where I had two serious injuries one after the other. I guess you have to surround yourself with people that keep you going and I am lucky to have a strong support system. So although there were dark times, I got through them.

"Part of the decision to move overseas was to break away from that [injury] cycle and once I made that decision, it was a really enlightening experience and a refreshing one," Lambie said.

He now finds himself sharing a changeroom with numerous stars of the game.

"Everywhere you look in the [Racing] changeroom, there are players who have represented their country. We have eight or nine Islanders, some Kiwis, a few South Africans and then obviously all the French internationals.

"The calibre of player in the changeroom is quite something and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them all and getting to learn things from them," he added.
