Negri was on the receiving end of one of those slurs during a Champions Cup match. Treviso played Toulon in that game and Mathieu Bastareaud did not take kindly to an incident at the breakdown in the 79th minute before passing a remark aimed at Negri.
The 23-year-old never heard what was said at the time and only became aware of it well after the encounter.
The duo made peace when Bastareaud returned to the game after serving a three-week ban, even swapping playing shirts following the Six Nations match between France and Italy but the French centre should not expect anything further from the Zimbabwean-born Negri.
