Player ratings: Young Bucks

It took them quite a while to settle into the match but when their engine warmed up, there was no stopping them.

The match was scrappy at times and failed to provide any spark but the sign of a high-quality team lies in how they put away weaker opposition.

Tauriq Ebrahim rates the New Zealand players!

15 Damian McKenzie

Proved that he is a massive threat in open play and looked pretty comfortable with some hard runs and excellent tactical kicking.

8/10

14 Israel Dagg

Tore through the Italian defence even when he was given scrappy ball. His speed and ability to spot a gap is surreal.

7/10

13 Malakai Fekitoa

Brilliant running lines and strong carries resulted in a brace of tries.

7/10

12 Anton Lienert-Brown

His offload game was again on show once again, even when he failed to break through tackles.

6/10

11 Waisake Naholo

Minimal chances to show his pace but broke through tackles whenever he had the ball.

6/10

10 Aaron Cruden

He certainly answered the questions around the All Blacks' place kicking but it was his overall decision making that kept his side on the front foot.

7/10

9 Tawera Kerr-Barlow

Pushed the tempo when he needed to and provided the perfect service to his backline.

7/10

8 Steven Luatua

Showed exactly what he is capable of producing and certainly put some pressure on Kieran Read.

7/10

7 Sam Cane (captain)

Captained the side brilliantly and made a nuisance of himself at the breakdowns.

7/10

6 Elliot Dixon

A faultless defensive performance was perfectly balanced by a few strong carries

7/10

5 Scott Barrett

Fairly satisfactory performance but he might have wanted to have made a bigger impact.

5/10

4 Patrick Tuipulotu

His confidence is clear for everyone to see as he continues to step up to the plate when asked.

7/10

3 Charlie Faumuina

A strong performance in the scrums was balanced with some strong carries and good work on defence.

7/10

2 Codie Taylor

His performance was perfectly summed up by the way he jumped to receive a high ball and set up a try.

8/10

1 Wyatt Crockett

Good at scrum time and a good allround effort, even though he coughed up a certain try.

6/10

Replacements:

16 Liam Coltman (on for Taylor, 66th min)

Not enough time to be rated

17 Joe Moody (on for Crockett, 70th min)

Not enough time to be rated

18 Ofa Tu'ungafasi (on for Faumuina, 56th min)

He may have been on the field for more than 30 minutes, but he was the only player to have no contribution on attack or defence.

3/10

19 Brodie Retallick (on for Barrett, 55th min)

A satisfactory day at the office, although he may have wanted to see more of the ball.

5/10

20 Matt Todd (on for Tuipulotu, 59th min)

Carried on the platform that was laid for him and his power is clear to see.

6/10

21 Aaron Smith (on for Kerr-Barlow, 50th min)

Good effort on his return to the team with crisp service and some good runs.

6/10

22 Lima Sopoaga (on for Cruden, 59th min)

Playing behind a dominant pack of forwards will always make things easier for a flyhalf to play his natural game.

6/10

23 Rieko Ioane (on for Dagg, 50th min)

Came into the match when the result was secured, so he could play with some freedom. Got himself involved nicely during his time on the park.

6/10
