Referee Frank Murphy seemed as if he was going for a yellow but instead goes for red at the behest of the TMO.

He had no choice.

A Disciplinary Panel will meet in Dublin on Thursday, December 28, to consider the red-card decision against Berghan.


The incident occurred in the fifth minute of the Pro14 Round 11 fixture at Murrayfield.


However, his actions were mild in comparison to the second incident we are featuring.

Although not a recent incident, we felt we should share it with our followers, albeit on Christmas.

The one mitigating circumstance you'd offer is that something appears to happen in the ruck between the pair immediately preceding the incident.
