Healthy Christmas lunch
The holiday season is upon us and, as per usual, everything focuses on having a good time and completely over indulging. Christmas lunch is a biggie!
But in this day and age, where nutritional shakes have and a miscellanea of dietary supplements have replaced solid foods, the question begs: "Is there still room for a big Christmas lunch?"
The rugby365.com team put their heads together and produced what they though would be perfect for the occasion.
Below you will find a four-course meal designed by our "experts" to save the waistline:
First Quarter:
Liver pate - made with lentils and onions (100 percent vegetarian) nobody will know the difference.
Melba toast
Second Quarter:
Cold cucumber soup/cold potato and leek soup/beetroot soup
Cabbage salad with roasted almonds
Caprese salad
Half-time:
Third Quarter:
Roast turkey
Roast veggies - done in the oven
Roast potatoes - also done in the oven and not Gran's traditional way
Gravy
Fourth (and most important) Quarter:
Chocolate Mousse - the dairy and cholesterol free kind of course.
Trifle - substitute the cream, it can be done.
Flaming Brandy Pudding with Brandy Butter - no substitute for tradition here!
