Why drop Lambie?
Former Wallabies coach Eddie Jones has expressed his bemusement regarding the Springboks' axing of Sharks playmaker Pat Lambie.
Having toured with the Boks on the away leg of the Tri-Nations and started in the No.10 jersey against the All Blacks, Lambie was bazaarly omitted from the squad for the home leg.
Albeit in a losing cause, Lambie was one of the few Springboks to enhance his reputation in the Tri-Nations thus far, after gutsy showings in both Tests.
"I can't work out why the Boks dropped Pat Lambie," Jones told RugbyXV.
"For me, Lambie looks more like a 15 at this stage of his career. He's definitely not a 10 at this point in his development.
"To play him at 10 behind a weakened pack against the All Blacks away, and then leave him out is a bit harsh for me."
Jones went on to add his frustration with the Boks not giving their talented youngster the space and freedom to grow into the international arena, and believes it would be a mistake not to take him to the World Cup.
