It was indeed not a good day for the two teams from East London, as Limpopo Blue Bulls also recorded a convincing 34-0 win over Border.

In the other matches of the day, Kwazulu-Natal and Griquas registered victories against South Africa's neighbouring countries Namibia and Zimbabwe respectively.

While Blue Bulls manage to edge pass Southern Western District for a hard-fought 14-12 victory.

In a really tough encounter, Free State and Golden Lions shared the spoils in a spectacular match which ended in a 22-22 draw.

In the last two fixtures of the day, Boland suffered a 5-14 shock defeat to Leopards, while the hosts Western Province secured a comfortable 28-19 victory over Pumas.
