CW. Kotze to referee final
Jaco Kotze of the Free State Referees' Society will referee the final (= last) match of the 2018 Craven Week when Western Province play the Sharks at Paarl Boys' High ground in Brug Street on Saturday, 14 July 2018.
He refereed the final match of 2012 Craven Week and has a spell on World Rugby's Sevens panel, along with, amongst others, Aimee Barrett-Theron who will referee the second last match between the Golden Lions and Boland.
Viv Richard Adams will referee the main match of the Academy Week between Western Province and Free State.
Tradition has it that referee appointments for the last day of Youth Weeks are done according to performance in the earlier days of each week, though "neutrality" plays a part. The same is true for the matches themselves.
The Under-18 Craven Week matches will be played on the Brug Street grounds, the Academy Week matches on Paarl Gim's grounds.
