Special Craven Week starts

The Craven Week for learners with special educational needs starts in Oudtshoorn on 10 June and last till 14 June. Those are the two matchdays. This year’s tournament is the 29th. The tournament was initiated and funded by Herman Lemmer, an estate agent in Potchefstroom, in 1982.

For the first time in 2009 a national LSEN Schools team was chosen which took part in the Under-18 Craven Week, last year in East London.

This year the team will go to the SA Academy Week in Vryheid.

The fixtures for the first day are already decided, but the second day’s fixtures will be determined after the first day in attempt to match teams by strength.

Fixtures for Thursday, 10 June:
09.00: Leopards vs Boland
10.10: KZN vs Blue Bulls BO
11.20: Eastern Cape vs Blue Bulls
12.30: Pumas vs Golden Lions
13.40: Valke vs Western Province
14.50: Free State vs Golden Lions BO
17.30: Sounth Western Districts vs Griffons

The referees for the tournament are all from the Women’s Panel.

Referees: Roslyn Fortuin (Boland), Madel de Villiers (Golden Lions), Siphokazi Njani (Border), Magda van der Heever (Pumas), Sanet Ludick (Leopards), Renee Daniell (Blue Bulls), Ilana Scholtz (Golden Lions).

Assistant referees: Melany Duthie (Boland), Henchalla Hoffman (South Western Districts).
