Under-13 Craven Week Results - Day 2
Several big scores
It was Day 2 of the Under-13 Craven Week being played in Potchefstroom with several big scores.
Scorers:
Limpopo, the old Far North, had a big win over the Northern Free Staters. Reply Nyathi scored four ties while Johannes van Staden, Inkateko Shirilele and Danie Ludick scored one each and Juan Vos added two conversions. Mojalefa Mokhele scored the Griffons' try.
The Falcons had an even bigger win though they scored one try fewer. But they kicked four conversions - three by Heinrich Bronkhorst and one by Michael Holtzhauzen who also kicked a drop. The tries were scored by Carlise van der Walt, Heinrich Bronkhorst, James Jackson, Jan Herholdt, Michael Holtzhauzen and Willem Steenkamp. Ruan Venter kicked a penalty goal for the Leopards.
As expected, the match between Western Province and Free State was close and in the end three tries beat two. Luan Greeff, Steven Kitshoff and Tshotsho Mbovane scored tries for Western Province, one converted by Craig Berry. Francois le Roux and Johannes de Klerk scored Free State's tries and Daniel Marais added a dropped goal.
Johannes Bosch, Johannes Putter, Lucky Mashilwane and Victor Mokoena scored tries for the Blue Bulls, one converted by Carel van Staden
Kagiso Segole got a hat-trick of tries for the Golden Lions for whom Obakeng Seiphemo and William Small-Smith scored tries. Small-Smith kicked two conversions. Border's tries were scored by Andile Jho and Sihle Gogela. Johannes Goosen kicked a conversion.
In the midst of all this prolific scoring Boland's victory over Eastern Province looks meagre. Ernst van der Westhuizen scored Boland's try and Paul Jordaan kicked the conversion.
And Natal's victory was the closest of the day. Just a conversion by Frederik Zeilinga made the difference. Nhlanhla Ngcamu and Sikhulile Sokhela scored Natal's tries. Abednico Maposa and Sbongiseni Motha scored for the Pumas.
South Western Districts posted the biggest score of the day with their nine tries. Rudi Boshoff and Quintin Sims each scored two tries and there was one each for Alrick Levendal, Frederick Potgieter, Jerome Klaase, Nicol du Plessis and Zandre Jansen. Andries de Wet kicked three conversions.
There were only tries when Border Country Districts played Namibia. Siphathise Nyanda scored two for the winners, Juanne-Louis Grobler one for the losers.
