Andrew Acton - Captain of Jeppe

Jeppe captain Andrew Acton may still be in Grade 11, but he will not be taking a backward step against KES on Saturday.

The determined loosehead prop said that despite the pressure of leading the first team this year it is a challenge that he has enjoyed.

Acton admits that the results have not been ideal, but he is hopeful that after making some important changes his team can turn the corner.

He explained: "It hasn't been the greatest season, things haven't quite come together properly yet. But we made some changes after the holidays and got rid of some guys who were not pulling their weight."

The confident Acton believes that these changes will give his team the edge against a formidable KES side this weekend.

"They always give us a tough time but we have got a lot of talented players and I believe we can beat any team in the country on our day," he said.

The Jeppe skipper said that his relatively light but mobile pack will look to move KES around the park on Saturday.

"We have got some pace in our backline and hopefully we can get the momentum on our side and force them to play our game," he said.
